Madolin Morley is thought to have perished as a result of a rock pillar holding a hammock toppling on top of her, according to West Bountiful authorities. According to West Bountiful police, the incident took place at 1:30 pm at a house near 800 West (Onion Street) and Heritage Point Lane.
A 16-year-old girl was hurt when an ornamental post, described as a rock pillar, fell while other adolescents were having a pool party in their backyard. When the pillar fell, Morley was gravely hurt. She was taken to the hospital, where she passed away. According to West Bountiful Police Chief Brandon Erekson, “absolutely no foul play” was involved.
Authorities claim that one of the other girls in the hammock had only minor wounds. 800 West Heritage Point Lane served as the venue for the event. Madolin’s uncle, Matt Morley, issued the following statement to KUTV 2News: “We are all saddened by the sudden loss of our sweet Madolin, a kind, caring, and bright young woman who touched countless lives.”
