Mahesh was also approached to write music for the Australian television show “Byte Me!” Mahesh played Dr. Doug Harris in the “Neighbours” series (1985 – present), a popular Australian soap opera with over 8,200 episodes aired, from 2010 to 2011.

Mahesh was requested to perform in the series by the same Lou Mitchell, so he signed a six-month contract and earned the role of a doctor at Erinsborough Hospital. Mahesh’s performance was so compelling that the producers renewed his contract for extra episodes, and he appeared in a total of 33 episodes.

In 2011, Mahesh was cast as Vijay in the film “Taj,” and subsequently as Nasir Khan in the film “The Three Ages of Sasha” (2011).
