Manu began his professional basketball career in 1995 when he was selected into the ‘Club de Bahia Blanca’ for that season’s Argentine basketball division. He was sent to Viola Reggio, Calabria, in 1998.

In 1999, he was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, but after a year he was compelled to return to Italy to play for Virtus Segafredo Bologna. He assisted the following club in obtaining several titles, including the Italian League Championship and the EuroLeague.

Manu was selected to the All-Rookie Second Team for the 2002-03 season in recognition of his outstanding play for the San Antonio Spurs. They also participated in the playoffs that season, contributing to the team’s second championship.
