Manuela was born on May 25, 1984, and she and her parents traveled around Colombia during her early years. The family had to relocate frequently because of her father Pablo’s hazardous line of work.
The 37-year-old girl possesses Colombian ethnicity and is of Colombian-Argentine nationality. The adjacent city of Medellin is where her father Pablo was born and reared. Abel de Jesus Dari Escobar, a farmer, and Hermilda de Los Dolores Berrio had seven children in total.
In 1995, Juan Pablo Escobar left the nation with her mother and brother following the death of her father. Before relocating to Argentina, they lived in several different nations, including Mozambique, Brazil, Ecuador, South Africa, and Peru.
Manuela’s childhood was marked by frequent moves.
Because of their relationship with Pablo, Manuela, her mother, and her brother have been subjected to a great deal of animosity since the death of their father. Cali Cartel, her father’s rival cartel, demanded millions of dollars from them as compensation for her father’s horrible crimes against them.
Their lives were horrible due to the continual threats. The three-member family decided to leave the country for this reason. Unfortunately, not many people offered them asylum, so it too didn’t work out for them. They eventually succeeded in reaching Mozambique, an African nation.
They spent some time living in the African nation before relocating to Brazil. In a similar vein, they eventually left Brazil and relocated to Argentina.
In Argentina, Manuela enrolled in a nearby Jewish high school. She also holds a bachelor’s degree.
Manuela is now going by a different name.
The fact that Manuela Escobar and the surviving member of her family now go by a new name is very self-explanatory. Pablo Escobar’s daughter, Juana Manuela Marroquin Santos, changed her name after migrating to Argentina.
Her mother and brother, in addition to herself, took on new identities. Following their relocation to the nation, the three-member family began to live a comparatively quiet existence. Luckily, Maria’s mother launched her own real estate company and was fairly successful in it.
The Mother and Brother of Manuela Escobar Were Arrested in 1999
Her life was going perfectly until the secret identity of her family was revealed. One of her mother’s friends discovered in 1999 that they were linked to the now-deceased drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Her mother, Maria Henao, who is now Maria Isabel Santos Caballero, fled the scene of the incident without leaving any evidence behind. Authorities located her a year after the crime, and she and her son Juan were sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
At the time, the authorities in Buenos Aires claimed that they had been detained on suspicion of both document falsification and money laundering related to drugs. Fortunately, none of the allegations were brought against them.
Despite the resolution of the matter, Manuela did not receive the revelation of her identity well. She barricaded herself in her room and refused to attend classes at all.
