Aselton and her husband Duplass had a lovely and happy start to their marriage. The Creep actor shares 25 interesting things about himself and the story of how he met his wife with Us Weekly. The first time they met, he didn’t go into much detail.
The two met on New Year’s Eve 2001. The two were reportedly traveling in a car to a New Year’s Eve celebration in Los Angeles. Around 11:30 p.m., they shared a kiss, and they have been dating ever since.
After dating for five and a half years, the pair got hitched. On August 26, 2006, they were wed in a grand wedding ceremony that was attended by friends and family.
In the hills above Silver Lake Reservoir, they spoke their vows. Although Aselton is a gifted actress in her own right, some of her best roles have been played by her husband and his brother, Jay.
In 2004, she and her boyfriend co-starred in the short film Scrapple, which marked the start of her acting career. Co-writing and directing the movie was Jay. With The Puffy Chair, Aselton made her feature-length film début in 2005.
Her spouse, who also co-directed the movie with his brother, co-starred in it with her. Since then, she and the Duplass brothers have worked together on a number of projects.
The League was Aselton and her husband’s longest joint venture. Six friends who participated in a fantasy football league were the focus of the show. Aselton and Duplass respectively played Peter “Pete” Eckhart and Jenny MacArthur.
The couple appeared on the show for seven seasons, from 2009 to 2015. In an interview with US TODAY, they explained why they chose not to portray marriage in the play. Aselton acknowledges that he and Steve Rannazzisi “had better chemistry.”
Rannazzisi played Kevin MacArthur, Aselton’s on-screen spouse, in The League. She mentioned that she wanted to attempt something different as the two had previously appeared as a battling pair in The Puffy Chair.
With Duplass, she hoped to “get work doing different things that aren’t generally.” She also made a joke about wanting to “kiss another man” to show off her sexual skills.

Duplass and Aselton are parents of two kids together. After one year of marriage, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Ora, in 2007. Ora was a young child when her parents were filming The League, so they had to choose priorities for their time. They talked about their families during the same US TODAY interview.
They typically drove to work together when their schedules were aligned. But Aselton and Duplass were able to manage time because Ora was only two years old at the time. When they weren’t working, they tried to spend as much time as they could with their child.
For instance, if one of them needed to remain with their daughter for a further scene, the other would depart. 2012 saw the birth of the couple’s second child, Molly. Particularly close to their cousins Mimi and Sam, who was Jay’s kids, were Ora and Molly.
The Washington Post quotes the brothers as saying that their older children were “spiritual soul mates.” On social media, Aselton and Duplass frequently post pictures of their kids. To protect their girls from the spotlight, they do not reveal their faces, though.
