At the age of 57, Mark Lanegan recently passed away. The main vocalist for the band’s Queens of the Stone Age and Screaming Trees was the singer and composer’s most well-known role. He confirmed the news on his official Twitter account on February 22. As per the tweet:

What caused Mark Lanegan’s death?

The loss of Mark Lanegan to death affects the entire music industry greatly. But it hasn’t been determined what caused his demise. After contracting COVID-19, he was hospitalized in March 2021 and nearly passed away. He was temporarily blind, and the ailment also prevented him from walking.

He went in and out of a coma for several months. In a 2020 interview, Lanegan addressed his opinions on several COVID-19 conspiracy theories. He addressed his wife’s concern about being tracked by technology by claiming that the illness is related to 5G technology.

The principal vocalist of Screaming Trees, as well as a member of Queens of the Stone Age and the Gutter Twins, Lanegan, who was born on November 25, 1964, rocketed to fame.

With three collaborations with Isobel Campbell and two with Duke Garwood, Lanegan released eleven studio albums. He became well-known among the general public thanks to his baritone voice.

The Ellensburg, Washington native began his career in music as the frontman for Screaming Trees in 1984. From that point until the band’s dissolution in 2000, he released seven studio albums and five EPs with them.

He collaborated with Queens of the Stone Age after the demise of Screaming Trees, contributing to albums like Songs for the Deaf,… Examples include Clockwork Orange, Rated R, and others. Throughout his career, Lanegan collaborated with a variety of performers, including Kurt Cobain, with whom he co-produced an unreleased record.

Together with Layne Staley and Mike McCready, he later formed the band Mad Season. Then, in 2003, the well-known performer founded The Gutter Twins and worked on three albums with Isobel Campbell. Martina Topley-Bird, Manic Street Preachers, Creature with the Atom Brain, and more artists have had his work appear on their albums.
