Mark started his professional career in 1984. When he won the Victoria Laser Series for the first time in 1986, his winning run officially began. Since then, he has participated in several competitions, such as the Australian Touring Car Championship and the V8 Supercar Championship series, both of which he has won five times. He also participated in and won six times in the Bathurst 1000.
Mark made his retirement announcement in 2008, however, he came out of retirement to compete in the 2009 V8 Supercars endurance race. He continued to compete until 2011, winning the 2010 Bathurst 1000 with Craig Lowndes.
Mark has raced in 482 races throughout his driving career, winning 90 of them as well as 42 major competitions. Following his retirement, Mark worked as a co-commentator for Seven Networks’ V8 Supercars season.
In 2014, he quit his job to serve as a V8 Supercars presenter and host of Fox Sports’ V8 Supercars TV show Inside Supercars. As of December 2022, Mark Skaife had a net worth of $3 million.
