Huff and her husband had known each other since they were children
Dowdy, a meteorologist, has known her now-husband since they were children. She met him for the first time when she was eight years old. Huff claimed in a March 2010 interview with New Jersey Monthly that her husband resided next door to her family in Morristown, New Jersey.
“I feel totally at home in New Jersey.” “My husband is from Morristown, and we grew up next door,” she explained. “In the summer, we used to visit my family. That’s how I met my husband, who I’ve known since I was eight.” Dowdy, her spouse, is said to be four years younger than her wife, who is now 60.
The Couple Was Isolated For Almost 20 Years
Despite knowing each other since infancy, Huff and her husband did not communicate for nearly 20 years. The meteorologist told the New York Post on March 17, 2011, that she stopped visiting her family in Morristown after 1976.
Dowdy then called her and invited her to his sister’s birthday celebration in 1995, seemingly out of nowhere. They stayed in touch following that meeting. Call it fate or just coincidence, but they fell in love and have been together ever since.
They married at Christmas
In March 1996, the power couple got engaged after only a year of dating. They later bought a house in Denville and had Marshall Watson Interiors decorate it for them. By October of the same year, they had also moved in together.
Dowdy later considered marriage after considerable years had gone, but Huff had other intentions. Following her lead, they exchanged wedding vows in December 1996.
Throughout a single weekend, the WNBC meteorologist arranged the entire wedding. “He didn’t want to wait, and neither did I.” “So I arranged our entire wedding throughout a weekend,” she explained to the New York Times in 2003.
Their wedding day was made even more remarkable because it fell during the Christmas season and coincided with the wedding anniversary of Huff’s parents. The pair is still legally married and spends their vacations in Hawaii, which she refers to as their “second home.”
