Mary Todd, 21, turned herself in, according to Montgomery Police Department Major Saba Coleman. She is the fourth person charged with attacking a black co-captain of the riverboat crew during a brawl on the river in the state capital. While the inquiry was underway, MPD claims that no additional details regarding Todd’s involvement in the confrontation were given.

Following the arrests of Richard Roberts, 48, on Tuesday, Allen Todd, 23, Zachary Shipman, 25, and Todd on Wednesday, is Todd. All of the suspects are charged with the same offense, notwithstanding Roberts’ two charges. Reggie Grey is the man that Montgomery police are still looking for to interrogate. He is allegedly seen assaulting someone with a folding chair in one video; further charges are expected.

Detectives from MPD are reviewing a large amount of public material as well as video surveillance systems owned by the City of Montgomery. The incident started on the pier beside the Alabama River just before seven o’clock on Saturday, according to MPD. Due to a disturbance, units were sent to the 200 block of Coosa Street.

Mary Elizabeth Charges

Co-captain Damien Pickett of Harriott II was kicked and assaulted by Mary Elizabeth Todd, who was charged with third-degree assault. Social media has been on fire since the altercation that took place on Saturday, August 5, beside the river in Montgomery, Alabama. The argument began when boaters left their pontoon boat on the pier, preventing the Harriott II riverboat from parking.

Mary Todd is the most current defendant to face charges about the confrontation that occurred on Saturday, August 5, at the Montgomery Riverfront. Mary Todd joined the owners of the pontoon boats who refused to move their craft so the Harriott could dock on Saturday. According to Mr. Pickett’s account in the police report, Mary “pushed him in his throat and would not let him pass.” When the boaters attacked the co-captain, Mary, a beer in her hand, kicked him.

Nevertheless, Pickett was attacked by a shirtless boater, as evidenced by widely shared footage taken by some of the 227 passengers on the riverboat. The attack escalated into violent chaos, leading to the imprisonment of 13 individuals.

Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing. Todd and Shipman have been charged with assault, along with 48-year-old Richard Roberts, whom the boy’s mother claims struck 16-year-old Daniel Warren during the altercation. Pickett told police that Mary Todd “would not let [him] pass” after she shoved him in the throat while holding a beer, according to AL.com.

She told police she saw the entire confrontation and heard one of the white aggressors threaten to pull a pistol, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The woman added that she witnessed Pickett pleading with the men to move their boat, to which the white men replied by giving her the finger and swearing.
