The former outsider accused the Alaskan Bush People production of giving him and his family narcotics in a ten-minute Instagram video posted in April 2021.

Matt decided that the root of nearly all of his issues was the Alaskan Bush People. The former forest dweller said that his family was given cocaine by the production crew.

The now-40-year-old Matt claimed that the show misled Discovery into believing that he and his family didn’t have access to electricity or television, while the Browns occasionally utilized all three. Matt claimed that the reasons he began his addiction were because of these lies. The former Bushman’s descent into drug addiction also caused him to lose contact with his parents.

After his period of treatment ended in January 2019, Matthew was sober by March. On March 21, 2021, the reality star—who appeared in over seven seasons—celebrated one year sober. He uploaded a video to Instagram to commemorate their first anniversary, along with the message,

Another Woman Claims Matthew Raped Her

Shelly Dawn Early, an ex-assistant of Matthew’s family, was one of the women who also accused him of sexual assault. A few days later, Shelly claimed, Matthew sexually assaulted her in the same Canoga Park, Los Angeles, location where he had mistreated Jurges. At the time, Shelly was 54.

Matt was reportedly inebriated at the time, according to Early. Jurges and Shelly both reported the rapes to the Topanga Division of the LAPD. After conducting an investigation, the Division forwarded the case to the District Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles County.

But later on, the DA decided not to press charges. Matt’s identity as the abuser is still unknown, but when Jessica contacted Bear and Gabe, the brothers of her abuser, they both expressed regret for Matthew’s improper behavior.
