Nonetheless, Maura returned to the show in September 1997 and continued on the show until its conclusion on September 17, 2010, appearing in 847 episodes of the award-winning series. Maura was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards and garnered countless other nominations.

After the series ended, Maura sought another long-term role, and the following year she was cast as Diane Jenkins in another long-running soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” where she portrayed the character for seven months and nearly 100 episodes before being replaced as the third actress in the role.
