Mauro Corona was born in Italy on August 9, 1950. Italian writer, novelist, and sculptor who is known for having written the books The End of the World Crooked as well as The Voice of Cold Men. He is also known for having dedicated himself to a life of mountaineering, climbing over 300 routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. Other sculptors also from Italy include Fabio Viale and Maurizio Cattelan. He was introduced to hunting and poaching by his father at a young age. He then chose to climb Mount Duranno at the age of thirteen. He attended the Oritisei School of Art but later attended the Marinoni Institute for Surveyors of Udine because it was free. He started working in his own studio in 1968 and had his first sculpture-based exposition in 1975.
