Maxi Jazz, real name Maxwell Fraser, was a DJ, rapper, singer, and musician from the United Kingdom.

From 1995 until 2011 and from 2015 to 2016, he was best known as the lead vocalist of the British electronic band Faithless.

In 2015, Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys, a newly formed band, featured the lead singer of Faithless.

On December 23, Jazz passed away at the age of 65. His group released a touching Facebook post to confirm the news.

He had acknowledged being in a difficult situation and struggling to get enough rest.

Maxi Jazz was identified by Medico Topics as having the harmful condition insomnia.

He was given the illness’s diagnosis a while back. He confessed, “I can’t get any sleep.”

Even a song about his condition was written by the rapper. On November 27, 1995, the song with the self-explanatory title Insomnia was published, suggesting that Jazz had through much suffering.

“Somewhere down in the chest of the delicate evening, is the point at which I look for the light, pick up my pen, and begins to write,” he sings in the song.

Additionally, the rapper disclosed in 2019 that he was healing from deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

DVT happens when a blood clot (thrombus) develops in the body’s deep veins, most frequently in the legs.

Jazz wrote about his trip on his Facebook page, thanking everyone for “their overwhelming love and support shown from across the world” and stating that he was now healing.

He was instructed by doctors to take some time off and avoid flying for a few more weeks. It required him to postpone his planned performances.

Jazz apologized to his audience and said he couldn’t wait to get back on stage. In order to pass the time while recuperating at home, he also bought a drum set.

Maxi Jazz Died While Sleeping

At the age of 65, Jazz passed away “peacefully in his sleep” on December 23, 2022, at his home in London. His actual cause of death has not yet been made public.

Sister Bliss shared a black and white photo of her bandmate as an homage to her bandmate on Twitter.

“Maxi Jazz 1957 – 2022,” Bliss wrote. We are devastated to report that Maxi passed away quietly in his sleep the night before. I’m sending love to everyone who participated in our musical adventure. You hear? Take care of one another.

Jazz, a devoted supporter of Crystal Palace Football Club, was appointed associate director in 2012.

The Premier League match between the English club’s first team and Fulham will be played to Faithless, the club’s chairman announced on Twitter.

“Desperately sad to hear the news that we lost Maxi this morning,” added Steve Parish. He was a fantastic man with a lot of talent and was a tremendous supporter of the team in every manner.

Maxwell Fraser, a.k.a. Maxi Jazz, was born in Brixton, London, England. In the Lambeth neighborhood of London, he resided in West Norwood.

He supported the efforts of the Burma Campaign UK because he was a Nichiren Buddhist, a member of Soka Gakkai International, and a Nichiren Buddhist.
