Surprisingly, this personality has a connection to the syndrome, but not in the way that most people expect.
Mayim Bialik Suffers From Prader-Willi Syndrome?
Most people’s lives are cut short as actors. You know they go to their workshops, fancy red carpets, events, and everything, and the majority of them have either trained at an acting school their entire life or have always worked hard to get to the top of the profession.
Sure, Mayim brought all the talent she could muster, but Bialik was a Ph.D. student at UCLA before she became a household name.

Mayim went on to get a Ph.D. at UCLA, with her dissertation focusing on the rare genetic illness Prader-Willi syndrome. So, while Mayim does not have the genetic condition, it is an area in which she appears to be interested, enough to make it the subject of her dissertation.
The game show host has long promoted Prader-Willi syndrome awareness and discussion. In reality, the Prader-Willi syndrome association of the United States has recognized her accomplishment.

She has also discussed the syndrome on the association’s official Facebook page, which has over 199k views. Despite appearances, Bialik devotes time and effort to raising awareness of the Prader-Willi disease.
While she has not been diagnosed with an illness, Bialik has had her fair share of health challenges. Mayim Bialik is battling an eating disorder.
The ‘Big Bang Theory neuroscientist has been suffering from an eating condition, and she revealed in an interview with USA Today that she is recovering from it.
She said that she has been suffering from anorexia for two years, but that she has also been on the mend for the previous two years. She went on to say that it was the first time she had ever spoken about it and that people’s reactions had kept her from doing so.
She stated,
This is the first time I’ve ever discussed it, because people always ask, “Well, why are you so overweight?”
Because, in addition to being anorexic and restricter, I am a compulsive overeater.
Furthermore, Bialik claimed of her illness, “I eat too much when no one’s looking… eating so I don’t have to feel anything.”
Bialik, who also maintains a podcast, is known for being open about her feelings and beliefs, and she has spoken openly about her struggles with mental health on her podcast.
