The wife of Kelvin Kiptum, Asenath Rotich, has unexpectedly become a cause of concern following her well-known husband’s tragic passing.
At the young age of 24, Kelvin Kiptum, a gifted Kenyan runner, lost his life in a car accident on February 11, 2024. When the runner passed away, he was contentedly wed to Asenath, with whom he had two children. Born in Kenya on December 2, 1999, Kelvin Kiptum Cheruiyot passed away on February 11, 2024.
He became well-known for his long-distance running career and broke the world record for marathons. In a similar vein, the athlete made history by being the first to finish an official marathon in under two hours and one minute. Between December 2022 and October 2023, he participated in three of the fastest marathons ever timed and became victorious in three significant races, which included two highly esteemed World Marathon Majors events.
The 5-foot-11-inch athlete finished the 2022 Valencia Marathon with the quickest marathon debut to date, and at the 2023 London Marathon, he was just 16 seconds away from setting a new world record.

Asenath Rotich, the spouse of Kelvin Kiptum, was born and raised in Kenya. She is of Black ethnicity, however, she doesn’t disclose any information about her siblings or parents. In addition, the famous wife has kept her professional and academic background a secret. Moving on, one of the Facebook posts states that Kelvin’s wife is older than 27. She made numerous appearances alongside her husband, but she never disclosed anything about her professional life.
Married Life and Kids
A few years ago, Kelvin and Asenath tied the knot, and together, they welcomed two stunning kids. To support Kelvin, the husband and wife team, their kids, and other family members used to attend a lot of events and activities. But neither the runner nor his spouse revealed the date of their first encounter or marriage.
Rotich has previously made appearances in media interviews, where she has discussed her husband’s achievements and games. The runner’s family celebrated his victory in October 2023, a few months prior, when he broke a new world record of two hours and 35 seconds, cutting 34 seconds off Kipchoge’s pace.
They had a happy family life up until February 11, 2024, when Kiptum passed away suddenly in a car accident. The Kenyan running champion died in a car crash in Kaptagat. Gervais Hakizimana, his coach, too lost his life in the catastrophe. Kiptum and Hakizimana were killed in the crash when the car, which was being driven by Kelvin, lost control and rolled over, according to the local authorities. One other person, a woman, was injured in the collision.
