Avri, who was born on November 4th, 2014, is Robert Jr. and Susan’s second child. Downey is half Lithuanian-Jewish, one-quarter Hungarian-Jewish, one-quarter Irish, Scottish, and German on her paternal side of the family. Susan, her mother, is Jewish.
Many of you have probably only sometimes heard the name Avri. Additionally, something about her middle name Roel has piqued people’s interest. Allow us to explain the significance behind it, but don’t take our word for it—this is a popular tabloid theory, not something the Downeys have said.
Evidently, members of her own family served as the inspiration for her middle name, Roel. Her paternal grandfather Robert Sr. and his wife Rosemary are represented by the first two characters, “Ro.” It also pays tribute to her maternal grandma, Rosie, as she has the same name.
With regard to the final two characters, ‘el,’ they were modeled after her paternal grandma Elise and her paternal grandfather Eliot Levin. That is undoubtedly a fitting tribute to both sides of the family.
On the filming of the movie Gothika in 2003, Robert and Susan Downey, parents of Avri Roel Downey, first got to know each other. At the time, his wife was employed by Silver Pictures as the Executive Vice President of Production.
Robert was the one who initially fell in love, but Susan initially turned down his approaches. But Robert, being Robert, persisted, and after extending a few more romantic invites, Susan ultimately gave in.

Avri Downey Has Two Elder Brothers as Siblings
Indio Falconer Downey and Exton Elias Downey are her two older brothers. On September 7, 1993, Indio Falconer, the oldest of the litter, was born. He is Robert Downey Jr.’s child with Deborah Falconer, his ex-wife. Exton was born on February 7, 2012, in the meantime. He is the only biological sibling of Avri.
Indio, Avri’s older brother, has experience in the entertainment industry. He once played Harry Lockhart in his father’s film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
In HBO’s The Sympathizer, a 2015 novel by Viet Thanh Nguyen with the same name, Robert Downey Jr.’s daughter Avri and son Exton were spotted helping their father get ready for the next movie by shaving his head. Robert, sporting a startling new appearance, was the one who uploaded the Instagram video of his children shaving his head in late October of that year.
