Meet Cam Roigard Parents | Dave And Lisa Roigard | Family & Wiki

Cam Roigard

Cam Roigard’s parents are Dave and Lisa Roigard. Cam is a rugby union player from New Zealand who now plays for the Hurricanes in the Super Rugby competition. Roigard, who was born in New Zealand, plays primarily as a scrum half.

He was added to the Hurricanes roster at the last minute for Round 7 of the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa season, according to club management. Cam Roigard, a former speedway driver who is currently being tested for a spot on the All Blacks rugby team, made a significant improvement in early April.

Roigard’s interests will intersect when the Hurricanes face the Western Force at Palmerston North’s Central Energy Trust Arena on Sunday. Interestingly, it is the only North Island circuit where Roigard has never raced in his previous career as a saloon driver. Despite just making a few appearances for the Hurricanes the previous season, All Blacks selectors were impressed by Roigard’s immense talent.

Who Are Cam Roigard’s Parents, Dave, And Lisa?

Dave and Lisa Roigard are Cam Roigard’s parents. Cam comes from a family of Speedway drivers and is a former Speedway driver himself. His father, Dave Roigard, was a former Waikato champion with three decades of racing experience. Dave began his career as a crew member for former New Zealand champion Geoff Fletcher.

He had the possibility of progressing from crew member to driver over time. Prior to the news item, he competed in super stocks for almost five years before switching to the saloon class due to age-related factors. Given Dave’s involvement in Speedway, it was only logical that his boys would follow suit.

Stefan and Cam both started out in small stocks, with Stefan eventually moving up to the saloon division when he got eligible. With Dave out of the picture, Stefan was able to finish the season in his father’s car, allowing Cam to move up to the saloon class in his brother’s car. Cam made his rugby debut in 2021. He stated that his long-term goal has always been to play full-time rugby for the Hurricanes.

Despite actively participating in speedway racing and assisting his brother as a crew member, he opted to leave the sport. Speedway’s inherent dangers of injury, as well as the financial demands of racing, rendered a professional career in that discipline unsustainable for him. While he was still racing, rugby was his main focus and long-term career goal.

Cam Roigard Siblings and Family

Cam’s brother is Stefan Roigard. The family consists of Dave, Lisa, and their two sons, who have been involved in Speedway for many years. Cam, who hails from a racing family, began racing when he was ten years old, competing in mini stocks at Huntly International Speedway.

He later transitioned to saloon racing, finishing second in the New Zealand championships. Roigard’s career was revolutionized when he was offered a contract with the Hurricanes in 2021 while juggling his involvement in rugby and racing.

He was offered this opportunity as a replacement for Jamie Booth, who was hurt in the leg. He intended to join the Hurricanes solely for pre-season training, but he ended up remaining for the entire season. His hard work and performance earned him a full-time contract for 2022, and he has flourished in his rugby career since then.
