Leigh Ross-Dakich, a former Syracuse softball team head coach, is the spouse of basketball sportscaster Dan Dakich. Leigh Ross coached Syracuse from 2006 to 2010, during which time he amassed a 276-216 record.

Dakich has experience as a basketball player and coach in addition to hosting. Before pursuing his job as a host, he had a successful basketball career. He played for Indiana University under Bob Knight from 1981 to 1985, leading the team as captain in his junior and senior years.
In 1985, Dakich began working as a graduate assistant coach at Indiana. In the end, Dakich was appointed head coach of Bowling Green State University. Former Indiana Pacers guard Keith McLeod, one of his players, has committed to a professional contract. Presenter Dan Dakich’s wife is Leigh Dakich. On September 21, Leigh was born in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. She went to Whiteford High School and earned her degree in 1992 from the University of Toledo. She became the head coach of the Notre Dame Academy softball team after graduating.
She then joined Bowling Green in 1997 as an assistant coach and served as head coach there from 1999 to 2006. She was appointed head coach at Syracuse University in 2006. She made significant contributions to the Syracuse softball program during her time there.
The 2011 squad she captained boasts the best record in SU history, and she has guided the program’s most successful NCAA Tournament run. After becoming engaged to Dan Dakich, an Indiana radio host, she left her position as coach. Leigh relocated to Zionsville after she married Dan, giving up her coaching job to pursue a new career as a television analyst during sports seasons.
Married Life and Kids
Dan Dakich’s second wife is Leigh. Dan was already wed in 1990 to Jackie, his first wife. In 2012, after twenty-two years of matrimony, they chose to separate. During their marriage, they gave birth to two children, Laura and Andrew.
After that, Dan fell in love with Leigh-Ross, and in January 2015, they made their engagement public on television. He claimed to have “lost my words” when he proposed to Ross at a Chicago restaurant on New Year’s Eve. “I’m thrilled to share that LLR @CoachRossAtSU accepted my marriage proposal for the new year!”
Four months later, in a grand ceremony with family and friends in attendance, they tied the knot. Andrew and Laura are Dan and Leigh’s two children from his first marriage. The couple’s offspring are not alive.
