The brothers Fang Shide and Fang Shishgen of Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan, a well-known actor and martial artist, comes from a complicated familial background. Charles Chan (Fang Daolong) and Lee-lee Chan were his parents.

Notably, on his father’s side, he has two half-brothers named Fang Shide and Fang Shishgen.

Charles Chan and his first wife Wan welcomed Fang Shide, the older of the two children, into the world in 1940. Fang Shide welcomed his younger brother, Fang Shisheng, into the family when he was six years old.

Tragically, when Fang Shide was just eight years old, their mother died away from sickness, leaving their father to raise Fang Shide alone.

Their father had a difficult choice as a result of the commencement of the Chinese Civil War between the Communists and Nationalists in 1948. He traveled to Hong Kong in 1950, leaving his two boys behind.

When they were only four years old and 10 years old, respectively, Fang Shide and Fang Shisheng found themselves in the care of their grandparents.

The two brothers struggled to get by in life, but ultimately got married and had children. Fang Shisheng is a farmer, while Fang Shide delivers mail.

When Fang Daolong and his son were reunited, he was already 71 years old, and Fang Shide was a middle-aged man, 45 years old.

Yulan and Guilan Chan, a sister of Jackie Chan

On his mother’s side, Chan also has two half-sisters and two half-brothers.

Prior to being hitched to Jackie’s father, Lee-lee Chan’s mother had another husband. Sadly, Lee’s first husband died away while she was just 28 years old, during the air strikes in Wuhan.

She was left to raise her two young girls alone as a result of this tragic incident. Her oldest daughter Yulan was 12 years old when her father passed away, while Guilan was just 4 years old.

At the age of 29, Lee-lee relocated to Shanghai due to her low financial means after leaving Wuhan. She told her kids a white lie at the railway station just before she left, promising to come back, but she never did.

Yulan, who at the early age of 12 was now responsible for taking care of herself and her younger sister, was forced to work in a factory using child labor.

However, Jackie ultimately became aware of their challenge and made the decision to intervene.

He was overwhelmed with gratitude when he learned that his second half-sister was prepared to remain in Australia to take care of their mother. He didn’t hesitate to spend a lot of money on the house next door, securing their closeness.

In order to make life easier for his sister and her husband in Australia, he also bought a BMW for them.
