Jayden Maiava’s Parents: Father William and Mother Jerushua Maiava

Jayden Maiava is one of eight children raised by William and Jerushua Maiava. Jayden’s family moved to Las Vegas when he was 13 years old, from Honolulu, Hawaii. The boy knew what he wanted to be when he was only six years old. He’d tell his father he wanted to play in the NFL, and his parents would let him.

Jayden began as a receiver, but his father advised him to switch to quarterback when they first arrived in Vegas. Jayden has already spoken extensively about his family life in an interview. Not only were his parents supportive of his football goals. His uncle, Keone, accompanied him to summer camps and recommended him to begin as a receiver.

On both sides, his aunt and grandmother played significant roles. Jayden is the eldest child in a close-knit family. They are also incredibly religious, with Jayden always thanking God for where he has come in his life. Jayden’s parents, William and Jerushua, have a joint Facebook page.

They have shared numerous family images on social media, the most recent being in October. Jayden has 2k Instagram followers but hasn’t posted anything. Many university players are now required to have a significant social media presence, but Jayden doesn’t appear to be concerned with what happens off the field.

Maiava’s Career Journey So Far

Jayden Maiava began his football career in Hawaii, but it wasn’t until he moved to Las Vegas that he gained attention. He began his freshman year of high school at Sierra Vista High School. In 2019, he returned to Kaimuki High School in Hawaii, where he passed for 3,317 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Jayden returned to Las Vegas for his senior year of high school, enrolling at Liberty High School. He threw for 2,027 yards and 24 touchdowns as the squad won the state championship. During his time at Liberty, Maiava was named to the all-league first team. The adolescent announced his commitment to UNLV in 2021.

The player chose UNLV over Auburn, Louisville, and Tennessee because of the coaching staff. He stated that the coaching team and his parents were constantly monitoring him. UNLV’s head coach, Marcus Arroyo, was involved in the recruiting process, calling Maiava and offering him a scholarship. The change has benefited both parties.
