He was roommates with Rebecca’s brother. Jerry was honest with Rebecaa’s brother about his emotions for Rebecca. He told her brother that he planned to marry her someday. Jerry married Rebecca three years after he made the statement. It wasn’t always so simple for the couple.

They struggled to pay their $150 monthly rent at Bartos Mobile Home Park. They rarely saw one another because football filled Jerry’s life. During their four decades together, the couple faced various health issues. Jerry’s battle with epilepsy has been well documented, and Rebecca has been his rock throughout.

Jerry experienced his first seizure in 2000 and his second in 2005. The football coach’s second seizure indicated that he had stage IV kidney cancer. Fortunately, the cancer was detected in time, and Jerry overcame it. However, the seizure persisted. It even prompted him to quit in 2015, but he came back in 2018.

Kill even joined Rebecca on recruitment trips in 2012 because of his seizure history. Following Jerry’s return to football, Rebecca became an epilepsy awareness champion. Rebecca mentioned during an interview that she keeps a careful eye on her marriage. She keeps track of Jerry’s prescription intake and exercise routine.

Jerry Kill has two children with Rebecca, Krystal and Tasha Kill. The two had previously discussed their father’s epilepsy. Jerry Kill’s two children released a public statement when their father retired in 2015. The sisters stated that it was difficult to see their father abandon something he enjoyed doing the most.

They also said it was difficult because football had always been their life. Jerry’s oldest daughter, Krystal Kill, has been on the sidelines beside her father since she was six years old. During an interview with CNN in the early 2010s, Krystal was described as standing on the sidelines with her father, keeping an eye on him.

She knew what to do in case Jerry had a seizure during the game. During her ESPN interview, Krystal revealed her special bond with her father on the sidelines. Krystal stated that she felt privileged to be able to engage in her father’s favorite hobby.

Jerry’s daughter stated that she learned a lot while working with her father, but most importantly, she understood his enthusiasm for the game and the people around him. Krystal formerly worked as a special needs teacher, but she has shunned social media. Tasha has also kept her distance from public engagements.
