In a shooting that happened on Sunday in Mattapan, Boston, Tyler Lawrence was fatally shot.
Just after 11:30 am, the emergency call operator received a call regarding a person who had been shot on Babson Street.
To activate ShotSpotter, officers were sent right away to the junction of Babson and Fremont streets.
On Babson Street near Fremont, they discovered the victim at the end of a driveway outside an apartment building.
But Tyler Lawrence had already passed away; it was too late. Boston EMS reported that Lawrence had received multiple gunshot wounds.
Along with Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox, numerous government officials attended the incident, including Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Deputy Supt. Felipe Colon.
After leaving the crime scene, the lawyer Hayden claimed to have watched football with his 13-year-old son.
He claimed that Tyler Lawrence’s family would never be able to do it, which is the glaring sadness of the situation.
The loss is tremendous for the Lawrence family and the city, according to Hayden.

Investigators have not, however, reached a conclusion regarding the victim’s connection to the home where his body was found.
Additionally, a neighbor alleged that before they heard the police rushing to the crime scene, five gunshots were heard.
The witness stated that the sound was too accurate and crisp, thus they knew it was gunshots, even though they acknowledged that people frequently mistake gunshot sounds for fireworks.
Another individual who wished to remain unnamed described it as tragic.
The Boston Police asked for the public’s assistance in the inquiry. They labeled the incident a “senseless act of violence.”
