As previously stated, Mercedes is Richard Ramirez’s biological mother, a Night Stalker. Regarding her early years, there is nothing in the media that is known about her. The only reason she attracted media attention was because of her son’s high-profile offense.
On February 19, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, in the United States, she gave birth to her son Richard. Her son proceeded down the infamous route as he grew up and eventually came out as a criminal. Due of his horrific deed, Mercedes’ son has gained notoriety under the aliases “The Night Stalker, The Walk-In Killer, The Valley Intruder, and Richard Mena.”
In addition, Ramirez immigrated to America from Mexico. She therefore most likely possesses dual citizenship, American and Mexican.

Mercedes, a Mexican girl, married Ciudad Juarez policeman Julian Ramirez, also a native of Mexico. Although the specifics of their union are unknown, it appears that Richard Ramirez’s mother put up with her husband’s abuse from the start.
Still, Ramirez stayed by her husband’s side and she and her husband and kids immigrated to the United States. The former couple moved to El Paso, Texas, and settled down. Her husband Julian began working as a laborer on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway in the new location.
Even though their lives had seen a great deal of improvement, Mercedes had to endure physical violence from her drunken and easily agitated husband, a former police officer.
Regarding her kids, the criminal was the smallest; Night Stalker Richard was not her only child. Robert Ramirez, Ruth Ramirez, Joseph Ramirez, and Ruben Ramirez were the four children Mercedes had before him.
All of her children, according to accounts, were born with birth defects ranging from breathing problems to abnormalities in their bones. Her children were raised in an abusive household.
Her children experienced a variety of issues as a result as they grew up. According to Philip Carlo’s book The Night Stalker, Robert, Mercedes’ son, became addicted to drugs, and Ruben, one of the five, was arrested for auto theft.

Ramirez was an employed lady. Given her husband’s alcoholism, Ramirez most likely made the decision to work because she had a large family to support. She was employed at a boot factory once.
She breathed in chemical vapors while working in the factory. Mercedes was reportedly expecting Richard, her youngest child, in the interim. She endured many hardships throughout her life, including physical abuse from her spouse and a horrific accident. With all of this, she had to have endured pain her entire life.

Richard, her youngest son, was found guilty of 14 burglaries, 11 sexual assaults, 5 counts of attempted murder, and 13 murders. Considering his criminal history, he received a 19-year sentence to death.
Her son Richard, who was once married to Doreen Lioy, set himself up for crime at a very young age. He was abused by his father when he was a little child, and it’s likely that his mother was unable to provide him with enough attention.
He then began pursuing Miguel “Mike” Ramirez, a distinguished combat veteran of the United States Army who wears a green beret. His horrific tales of raping women while serving in the Vietnam War captivated Richard.
his mother was likely, Mercedes’s son left high school, traveled to Los Angeles, and became very interested in Satanism and the occult. It was there that he began abusing cocaine and gradually turned to a life of crime.
Her son suffered from schizoid personality disorder and was mentally ill.
Psychiatrist Michael H. Stone claims that Schizoid Personality Disorder, an incurable mental condition, affected Ramirez’s criminal son. He stated that the main cause of this sickness was the numerous wounds he had before turning six years old.
Richard developed hypersexuality, aggression, and temporal lobe epilepsy as a result of his illness.
Until the year 2022, numerous films and television shows were produced based on his horrible criminal acts. First, a television film titled Manhunt: Search for the Night Stalker was produced in 1989. After then, his life tale served as the basis for the 2002 movie Night Stalker.
Similar to this, two other films under the title The Night Stalker were made in 2009 and 2016 and tell the story of his illicit operations. Richard appeared in episodes five and nine of American Horror Story.
The narrative of Richard and the ladies that correspond with them was also featured in the 2020 documentary film Just A Guy. A documentary on him called Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer was just published by Netflix in 2021.

Her 53-year-old son, who had received a prison sentence, passed away in California on June 7, 2013. His B-cell lymphoma difficulties led to his admission to Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California. In addition, he was suffering from “chronic substance abuse and chronic hepatitis C viral infection.”
His family informed El Paso Times upon his passing,
“We are in deep sorrow over the passing of our brother and son, Richard Ramirez.
Whether the world assessed him favorably or unfavorably doesn’t matter anymore.
“Now he stands before the real judge—the one who sees and understands all. Please show consideration for our loss and sadness.
By the time 2022 rolls around, nine years have passed since the world lost the beloved Night Stalker.
