After meeting some of his victims on dating websites, David Carrick, 48, acknowledged guilt to 49 crimes committed over a 20-year period.
Since the situation is still delicate as of the time this article was written, no information on David Carrick’s wife has been made public.
Similarly to that, his family’s information was kept private, making it impossible to learn the truth about them.
After learning about David Carrick, it is difficult to imagine his wife and family will remain with him.
Arrest and charge of a Metropolitan Police officer
The Met apologized when it came to light that David had been accused of nine offenses, including rape, between 2000 and 2021.
Carrick was arrested in October 2021 and confessed to 24 charges of rape before having his employment terminated.
Between 2003 and 2020, the majority of his offenses took place in Hertfordshire, where he lived.
The Stevenage-born Carrick would order the women how they should behave, including how they should dress, eat, and sleep. He would even forbid some of the women from talking to their children.
Carrick, a member of the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, met several of his victims on dating websites like Tinder and Badoo. He then used his authority as a policeman to gain their confidence.
Carrick allegedly pleaded guilty to 43 crimes, including 20 counts of rape, in December.
Carrick admitted to employing violence in various charges that would have physically wounded nine victims, some of whom he raped several times over the course of months or years.
After repeatedly trapping one of his victims into a tiny closet under his stairs, Carrick admitted to committing false imprisonment offenses.
After Carrick’s first guilty pleas, the Met terminated his pay and began an accelerated misconduct process; a hearing is slated for coming Tuesday.
David Carrick, Is He Arrested?
When David’s last hearing is held in February, he will be presented in the count while he is still in detention. Therefore, we may argue that he is not yet in prison.
According to Jaswant Narwal, chief crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service, “Carrick held a position where he was charged with the responsibility of protecting the public, but over the course of 17 years, in his private life, he did the exact reverse.”
“This guy repeatedly ridiculed and degraded women in addition to abusing and raping them sexually.
His crime worsened with time as he got more certain and persuaded he would get away with it.
Det Ch Insp Iain Moor of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit stated outside of court and said that the details of David Carrick’s acts are horrifying.
“I imagine many will be horrified and repulsed by his actions, but I hope the victims and the general public are comforted that no one is above the law and that the Police Service will obstinately pursue those offenders who target women in this manner,” stated the author.
