We are eager to try all of the new recipes from MasterChef Season 12 when it premieres. Twenty contestants are returning to the challenge, including Michael Silverstein, for a chance to win the top prize of $250,000.

In Season 10 of MasterChef, Michael competed and came in 15th. Up until week six, when he was eliminated, he never finished last in any challenge.

A contestant on MasterChef is Michael Silverstein

34-year-old Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the city where Michael Silverstein was born. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with his undergraduate degree.

Before switching to becoming a chef and competing on MasterChef, he was a real estate flipper. When he was 13 and started working at a nearby Italian restaurant, Michael stated in an interview with Medium that he knew he wanted to pursue a career in cooking. He stated:

“I remember watching the busy kitchen finish serving supper while in awe. That particular moment, if there was one in my life that set me on the road to becoming a chef, was it?

He claimed in an interview with Beyondish that he loved cooking with his mother as a child and would constantly tell his sisters that he would one day operate a restaurant.

Michael also admitted in the Medium interview that he wanted to lose weight naturally because, at the age of 30, he weighed more than 300 pounds. He decided to adopt a ketogenic diet to make some beneficial nutritional changes. He stated:

“When I started the ketogenic diet, my instinct as a chef was to make meals thwould adore eating. I was encouraged to share the recipes online to assist others to get the same outcomes since I was feeling great, reducing weight, and preparing some amazing Keto dinners.

On Instagram, where he started posting pictures and videos of his meals, he quickly gained a considerable following. He lost more than 80 pounds in a year as a result of the diet. Producers of the MasterChef program then became aware of him, and he joined the show.

Michael moved to Texas after the show was finished. In 2020, he published his cookbook, New Keto Cooking, covering various weight-loss-friendly keto recipes. Michael supports a low-carb diet as well. His second book, New Comfort Cooking: Homestyle Keto Recipes That Won’t Bust Your Belt or Wallet, was released in January 2022.

He also presents his podcast, The Talk with Chef Michael, where he talks about diet strategies, the keto diet, and other foods. He posts his recipes on his website and has been featured in Good Day Austin, NPR, and Delish, among other publications.
