Mexican professional footballer, Miguel Layun currently plays right back for Liga MX team América. When he signed with Atalanta in 2009, he became the first football player from Mexico to compete in Serie A. Layn represented Mexico at the 2017 Confederations Cup, two CONCACAF Gold Cups, the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, and two CONCACAF Gold Cups.

Before joining Club América in Mexico in 2010, he was a standout player for Watford, Granada, Porto, and Sevilla. Carlos Layn started his professional career in 2006 with C.D. Veracruz, where he played in the Primera División until 2009. After a successful trial, he was signed by the Italian team Atalanta for €625,000, becoming the first Mexican to play in Serie A.

Miguel played in two league matches during the contest, against Chievo and Cagliari. He served as the team’s captain for the Clausura 2013 competition, leading them to their first league title.
