There is no Wikipedia article for Mike Day, although multiple sites describe his valiant navy and military duty. Day was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 24, 1975, and raised in Auburn, Washington. He was 48 when he died last week. Douglas “Mike” Day joined the Navy in 1996 and SEALs in 2002.
Day led four SEALs on a mission to capture a high-value target in Iraq on April 6, 2007, when enemy fire shot down their helicopter. Day returned fire and killed many enemy troops while being gravely wounded, saving his crew.
