The University coach identified Mike Hollins as the player when he won the 2018 Warrick Dunn Award as WAFB’s Sportsline Athlete of the Year. According to accounts, the shooting at the University of Virginia resulted in the deaths of three people and the injuries of another two. Mike was one of the survivors, but the authorities have identified the deceased as D’Sean Perry, Lavel Davis, and Devin Chandler.

Mike ran 27 times for 237 yards and four touchdowns in the 2018 state championship game, earning MVP honors as well. In addition, he has 197 receiving yards and 54 career running yards. The youthful playmaker has also gained 200 yards on the ground and in receptions in Virginia’s last three games.
Additionally, he was awarded the 2022–2023 Sanford B. Prater Football Scholarship. The college junior’s Twitter account, which is rife with comments on sports, particularly football, makes clear how passionate he is about them. According to the university’s website, Hollins plays running back for the football team.
Hollins’ family is en route from Baton Rouge to Virginia to be with him after the event, according to the University of Virginia officials. According to Hollins’ father, the athlete was miraculously spared stomach damage when he was shot.

While officials carry out their investigations into the incident, the University has been temporarily shuttered.
