Mike Leach Illness Before Death: Did Mississippi State Coach Pass Away From A Heart Attack In A Hospital?

Mike Leach, who was being treated for health difficulties at a hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, died on December 12, 2022, at the age of 61. On December 11, 2022, Leach was admitted to the hospital due to a “personal health issue.” The following evening, Ross Delenger of Sports Illustrated reported that Leach was in serious condition.

He experienced a huge heart attack and had not gotten medical assistance for 10 to 15 minutes when EMTs used a defibrillator to restore his normal cardiac beat, according to The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi.

According to their sources, the football coach experienced seizures as well, which might have led to brain damage. Mississippi State announced two days later, on December 13, 2022, that Mike Leach had died the night before “from complications due to a heart condition.”

According to the Associated Press, the head coach suffered pneumonia late in the season, although it was unclear whether the sickness was connected to his hospitalization. Mike’s family was with him and appreciated the love and support for the coach, according to his school, which asked supporters to respect the family’s privacy at the moment.
