From 2010 to 2012, Mirco played junior ice hockey for the Kloten Flyers, where he began his professional ice hockey career. During the 2011–12 season, he played in seven games for the National League A. The Everett Silvertips selected him with the 11th overall pick in the 2012 CHL import draught.

He spent two seasons as a member of the team. In 2013–14, he was a member of the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League (AHL). He made his debut abroad in 2011. In 2011, Mirco made his Under 18 Team debut for Switzerland, placing seventh in the IH18 competition. He has had numerous opportunities to represent his nation.

The National Hockey League (NHL) San Jose Sharks signed Mirco on September 22, 2013. At the 2013 NHL Entry Draught, the San Jose Sharks selected Mirco in the first round, 18th overall. After agreeing to a three-year entry-level contract with the team, he went back to the Everett Silvertips.

He missed all of the Sharks’ preseason games in 2013 due to an injury. Miller played for the Worcester Sharks up to the 2014–15 American Hockey League (AHL) season, when he was transferred to the San Jose Barracuda. He joined the San Jose Sharks again for the 2015–16 campaign. He is still a Sharks player for San Jose. Despite still being a young man, he has had a very successful professional ice hockey career.
