Monique Barry, a tennis player from New Zealand, is the daughter of Rachael and Peter Barry. She currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. The boy moved to Australia when he was four years old.
At the age of 21, Monique has already won New Zealand Player of the Year twice. She reached a career high ranking of 597 in WTA Singles in September. In November, her doubles ranking was 470, a career high. She won her second ITF doubles title in July in an event in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand.
Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty, an Indian tennis player, was Monique’s doubles partner. Barry won her first doubles championship with Kiwi Vivian Yang in July 2022 at Caloundra, Australia. The Kiwi recently expressed her joy in obtaining an ASB wildcard entry after defeating Elyse Tse 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
However, in the first round of the ASB Classic, the youngster was defeated 7-6, 6-2 by Russia’s Elina Avanesyan. Many people expected Elina to win, but Monique made certain she had a fair chance. Despite the setback, Monique stated that the game has only fueled her desire to play at a higher level.
Monique Barry’s Parents Are Tennis Players
Monique Barry is a New Zealand tennis player. He is Rachael and Peter Barry’s only child. The couple has avoided the media and has not given any interviews. Rachael shared a photo of her daughter as a ball girl at Victoria Azarenka’s 2013 tennis event. So it was clear that the Barrys had always backed Monique and her dream of becoming a tennis great.
