Mick Mars’s ankylosing spondylitis forced him to retire. Mars will continue to be a band member, although he can’t travel because of his sickness. Nikki Sixx, the bassist for Motley Crue, has stated that John 5 will mesh well with the rest of the band. He claimed that because they had previously collaborated on a project, it was someone they knew and liked.

When asked on Twitter why they chose John 5 by a fan, Sixx responded as follows:

He checks all the boxes. He plays like a lunatic. Has a history with us, is funny, and respects our music. Together, the two of them have produced several extremely successful singles.

Three of Motley Crue’s original songs from the 2019 band biopic The Dirt were cowritten by Sixx and the band. These songs include Ride With the Devil, Crash and Burn, and The Dirt (Est. 1981). Additionally, they collaborated on the song’s title with American singer-songwriter Desmond Child for Meat Loaf’s 2006 album, Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose.

John 5, whose true name is John Lowery, took on his stage name in 1998 when he joined the rock group Marilyn Manson as their guitarist. Along with working with Avril Lavigne, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne, and Steve Perry, he also took on the role of Rob Zombie’s guitarist.

In addition to his work with John 5, John 5 has also performed as a solo guitarist. His most recent albums are Invasion and Sinner. In 2019 and 2020, respectively, they will be accessible. Additionally, he issued two live albums in 2018 and 2020, titled It’s Alive and Live Invasion, as well as a remix album in 2009 called Remixploitation.

Why did Mick Mars make his retirement announcement?

The band’s original guitarist, Mick Mars, opted to end his career because of his rheumatic disease, ankylosing spondylitis.

In light of his ongoing, torturous battle with ankylosing spondylitis (A.S. ), Mick Mars, co-founder and primary guitarist of the heavy metal band Motley Crue for the past 41 years, announced today that he will no longer be able to play with the group.

“Mick can no longer withstand the rigors of the tour, but he will stay in the band.” Extremely painful and fatal, A.S. is a degenerative disorder that affects the spine.

When Mars was 17 years old, the problem was discovered. He had great pain and his movement was limited. The artist had hip replacement surgery in late 2004, which made his condition worse and caused his lower spine to freeze and spasm. In addition, it compressed him down and forward, making him three inches shorter than he was in high school and causing scoliosis on his back.
