While no one knows how his parents met, Neil recounted their first meeting in an exclusive interview with Ozmail.
According to him, his father Vince first encountered Temi in 1978. At the time, he was fronting Rockandi. The former lovers were classmates at the same school. When Vince fractured his leg while skating at the pipeline in Glendora, they grabbed each other’s attention. Neil smiled at Temi as she came out to assist him. There was an instant connection between the two.
Neil stated,
“I’ve heard a lot of different ones. The one that stands out the most is when my father fractured his leg or something while skating. He used to skate at Glendora’s pipeline. He was probably coming out of the guys’ room or something, and Mum glanced at him and felt sorry for him. He grinned as she offered to assist him with his books. That’s what drew her attention.”
Soon after, the then-twenties couple began dating and welcomed their first kid the same year they met.
