New Book Alleges Scientology ‘Separated’ Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman

Explosive charges about the involvement of Scientology in separating Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman during their marriage have been made in a new book.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s marriage is the subject of shocking allegations in Mike Rinder’s new book A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology. The book discusses how Scientology helped separate Cruise and Kidman because the organization deemed Kidman to be a “bad influence.”

Former high-ranking church official Rinder writes in his latest book about the period in Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s marriage when the actor started to disregard David Miscavige’s calls while filming the Stanley Kubrick movie Eyes Wide Shut in London.

Page Six reports that Rinder intends to reintegrate Cruise into Scientology. Top church executive Marty Rathbun was ordered to the UK by Miscavige to audit Cruise, a procedure that involves walking the subject through their life’s events in order to remove negativity and help them become “clear.”

Mike claims that this procedure gradually lured the actor back into the Scientology community. This reassociation “established a distance between [Cruise] and Nicole Kidman,” he writes in the book.

Additionally, according to Rinder’s book, the church felt intimidated by Kidman’s ability to influence Cruise. According to Page Six, Rathbun “worked with [Hollywood lawyer] Bert Fields to hire infamous PI Anthony Pellicano to spy on Nicole and tap her phone.”

According to Rinder’s book, after the couple’s 2001 breakup, Miscavige, the leader of Scientology, was pleased that Nicole’s “bad influence” was no longer “dragging Tom away.”
