TRIBUTES have been offered to Paudie Palmer (65), a commentator on Gaelic games and the uncle of Claudine Keane, who lost his ten-day battle for life after a vehicle accident on Christmas Day.
Mr. Palmer died at Cork University Hospital (CUH) on December 29, after a car accident outside of Innishannon in west Cork.

A Ukrainian national was recently remanded in jail on suspicions connected to the incident in west Cork where Mr. Palmer was harmed.
Bohdan Bezverkyi, 33, showed up in a Bandon District Court special session on December 29 at 9:50 a.m. in relation to the alleged hit-and-run incident at Dunkereen Cross west of Innishannon.
Bezverkhyi was charged with failing to provide help to the wounded Party at the site of the accident, report the occurrence, keep his automobile at the spot for a long enough period of time, and come to a complete stop.
Mr. Bezverkhyi allegedly made a number of confessions at the Bandon Garda Station, according to Garda Det O’Donnell. In accordance with Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984, Bezverkhyi was detained for interrogation.
Defense counsel Myra Dineen said that her client had “expressed regret” for what had occurred.
