Nez Balelo said in a press release: “He (Ohtani) is excited to begin this partnership, and he structured his contract to reflect a true commitment from both sides to long-term success.” According to insiders, the Dodgers will defer $68 million year until the contract expires. Furthermore, the pact contains no opt-out clauses, demonstrating the Dodgers’ and Ohtani’s commitment.
