In terms of her father, Dwayne attended Red Rocks Community College and earned an engineering degree. In 1984, he began his profession as an Industrial Electrician. From 2017 to 2021, he was also the Engineering Manager for RK Mission Critical, and from May 2021 to February 2022, he was the Electrical Controls & Power Engineer. Similarly, Kessinger is currently employed with Easter-Owens Electric Co. as an Electrical Engineering Specialist.
Her Educational Background

Kissinger received her bachelor’s degree in geology from Colorado State University in 2013. Nichol also has an Associate Degree in Geological and Earth Sciences and Geosciences from the Community College of Aurora.

What Exactly Did Nichol Kessinger Do?

Nichol began working as a bookkeeper shortly after graduating. She was also a field engineer. Kissinger found a work as a MWD Field engineer at Halliburton nearly a decade after her previous roles.

Nichol was also promoted to Project Manager at RK Mechanical. She also worked for Anadarko Petroleum, which is where she met her boyfriend for the first time. She used to be in charge of the environmental department. However, she was sacked a few days after her colleague CW.
When did Nichol Kessinger and Chris Watts first meet? Their Brief Relationship

As previously stated, Kessinger met her then-beau while working at Anadarko Petroleum. Kessinger was in the environmental department at the time, and Watts was an operator. Watts and other operators, she claimed the Denver Post, would always wait in the office break room before going to work. But Nichol never said anything to him.

Watts later came to her office room in the middle of June 2018, and it was there that the two were introduced. Watts was still married to his then-wife Shanann Cathryn Rzucek at the time, but he didn’t wear a wedding ring, which impressed Nichol.

They soon began to see one other at the office on a regular basis. Chris later told her that he had recently divorced his wife. He also disclosed that he and his then-wife have two children.

They were discovered off-duty for the first time in late June. Nichol also inquired about his divorce proceedings with his wife at the time. He informed her that their divorce was virtually complete and that they were only trying to resolve their financial concerns, despite the fact that he was legally married to his spouse at the time.

They gradually began to have an intimate relationship by early July of this year. They used to get together four or five times per week. Chris called his girlfriend in late July, reporting that the divorce had been finalized.

The Missing Wife and Daughters of Chris Watt

Nickole Atkinson, a friend of Shanann Cathryn Rzucek, reported Chris’ wife and girls missing on August 13, 2018. Atkinson, who was anxious about her missed obstetrics and gynecology appointment, did not return her calls or texts.

When Atkinson arrived at Shannan’s house, she rang the doorbell and knocked several times. However, when no one responded, she called Chris, who was at work, and informed the Frederick Police Department. Watts told Denver7 that when he left for work at 5:15 a.m. that day, he spotted his wife and daughter asleep. They were gone when he returned.

Further inquiry revealed, however, that Shannan had left the house without taking any of her items, including her phone, purse, and automobile. Because Chris’ story did not fit, detectives became skeptical of him.

Nichol was the one who contacted the authorities, including the FBI.

Chris texted his fiancée on August 13, 2018, after his family had vanished, to inform her that his family had vanished. He informed Nichol that his wife had gone on a play date with their children and had not returned since. Kessinger was concerned when he saw his nonchalant remark, but he let it go. Later that evening, reporters arrived at Chris Watt’s house, and the full story was revealed to everyone.

Nichol discovered that her ex-boyfriend had lied to her about the divorce and that his wife, Shannan, was 15 weeks pregnant. She made extensive phone calls and text messages that night to confront him and clarify the situation around his disappearance.

Furthermore, Nichol later told The Denver Post that Chris expressed no anxiety about his disappearance. He avoided questions about his missing family and sought to deflect the issue whenever she asked.

Watts’ mistress stated:

He started telling me so many falsehoods that I eventually told him I didn’t want to speak to him again until his family was recovered.

She became concerned after hearing what Chris had to say about his missing family and called the Weld County Sheriff’s office to come clean about their relationship and the lies he told her. Kessinger also phoned the FBI, stating, “With a pregnant woman missing and two children missing, I was going to do anything that I could.”

Nichol Kessinger Deleted the Following Messages: Was she a suspect in the murder?

In an interview with the case’s detectives, Nichol stated that she deleted some of the messages she sent to Chris, which is highly strange and raises the issue of whether or not she was involved in the murder.

However, she corrected it in a two-hour interview by saying:

“I was just disgusted by him.” I had no idea what was going on right now. You just lied to me, and I don’t want to see this on my phone ever again. So I took it out. Because he lied to me, I removed everything he owned. It was the pain that caused me to remove it.”

There is no evidence that she was involved in the disappearances, but many people thought she was filled with remorse during the questioning.

Similarly, there were other inconsistencies in her statement; according to sources, she was looking for wedding clothes online only after dating him for almost two months. But, whatever the case, authorities found no evidence linking her to the crime.

However, other people believe she is as responsible, and her involvement with the murderer has also sparked controversy. Later, the media referred to her as a “home wrecker,” while some referred to her as a “murderer mistress.”

Chris Watts Gave a Touching Interview Before Being Arrested for Murders

Watts delivered a heartfelt interview before admitting to cold-bloodedly murdering his wife and daughters. He claimed to have had an emotional talk with his wife prior to her disappearance.

“I don’t feel like this is even real right now,” Chris remarked in an interview with NBC News. It’s like a nightmare from which I can’t get out. It’s terrifying to think kids might be in trouble.” In addition, in an interview with Denver7, he discussed his three and four-year-old daughters, adding, “My kids are my life.” “I mean, those smiles brighten my day.”

CW, Nichol’s lover, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.

On August 15, 2018, Chris Watt was arrested for the murder of his pregnant wife Shannan and kids Bella and Celeste. He was convicted following an interview in which he failed a polygraph exam, also known as a lie detector test, and admitted to murdering them.

Prior to admitting, Nichol’s boyfriend alleged that Shanann murdered their children when he demanded a divorce. So, in a fit of wrath, he murdered his wife. The fraudster claimed he saw his daughter Bella on her bed, blue in the face, on the baby monitor. Celeste was being strangled by his wife. Watts dragged her downstairs and strangled her to death.

When questioned what he did with the remains, he informed authorities that he collected the three bodies, loaded them into his truck, and drove them to his Anadarko Petroleum Corporation work site. Watts concealed Shannan’s body between two oil tanks, with his daughters inside one of them. On August 16, 2018, detectives discovered the missing bodies in Anadarko Petroleum.

On August 21, 2018, the cold-hearted murderer was charged with four charges of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to five life terms without the possibility of release following a plea bargain.

Shannan Watts, her two girls, and an unborn infant were murdered by her husband Chris Watts, according to a documentary broadcast by Netflix. The gruesome murder narrative broadcast on September 30, 2020, with the title “American Murder: The Family Next Door.”
