The 45-year-old mother of two went missing while walking her dog on January 27. She vanished after dropping her two daughters, ages six and nine, off at school.

On Sunday morning, cops were called to the location less than a mile from where Nicola was last seen, and her body was pulled from the river. Stephanie Benyon, a friend of Bulley’s whose children attend the same school, described Bulley as “a nice, devoted, and caring person who values her two girls, family, and friends.” Bulley’s 12-year companion, Paul Ansell, described the situation as “perpetual hell.”

While post-mortem examinations are underway, Nicola Bulley’s death remains “unexplained.” Detectives believe she drowned after dropping her dog’s ball and attempting to retrieve it. There has been no indication of wrongdoing or outside interference. The police are still looking into how Paul’s social media accounts were compromised.

The 45-year-old mortgage advisor was last seen dropping off her two daughters, ages six and nine, to school with her springer spaniel Willow on January 27. Willow was discovered wandering wild with Nicola’s phone, still connected to a conference call, on a bench beside a rocky riverbed the next morning.

When a body was discovered in a river and identified as being that of Nicola Bulley, her family lashed out at the media and the general public, saying they could never understand “what Nikki had gone through in her last moments.” The family also slammed “appalling” media and social media statements about Nicola’s friends and family, as well as her partner, Paul Ansell.

Mr. Ansell described his reaction to the discovery of the body as “agony,” but he has remained silent since the official identification. The discovery caps off a thorough search of the area that saw experts combing a large section of the river for days on end. Nicola’s body was thought to have been discovered among reeds, making it difficult for experts to locate her.

According to expert divers who volunteered to check the riverbed with cutting-edge technology, she was ‘categorically not’ in the area of the river where police suspect she fell in. SGI stated that they spent “four hours on our first day” searching the area near where Nicola was later discovered, but they were “not involved or charged with” exploring the riverside, which has reeds.

Dog walkers discovered the body shortly before midday on Sunday and contacted the police. Police Chief Superintendent Bob Eastwood claimed the department faced a “absolute avalanche” of criticism for taking so long to find Nicola. It is expected that an inquest will be held soon to determine the exact causes of Nicola’s death.
