The victims are identified as Lucas Page and Nicola Courtney. The 34-year-old woman from Scunthorpe and her three-year-old son were on their way to Immingham on the A180 when the tragedy happened.
“Officers are asking for information following an incident on Friday, March 10, regarding a fatal road traffic collision,” the spokeswoman said in a statement on Saturday.
If you saw the collision, the cars preceding the crash, or if you have any dash-cam video showing the cars before the collision, please call the non-emergency number 101 and mention log 557 of March.
A voluntary report on the collision has been submitted to the Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC).

It is believed that the 34-year-old mother from Scunthorpe and her three-year-old son got into a car accident on the A180 close to Immingham.
On Friday at 8:45 p.m., a vehicle remembered dodging the “stranded” blue Ford Focus and reported it to the police. However, at 9.06 p.m., a white articulated vehicle struck the halted car, instantly killing Nicola and Lucas.
Prior to the crash, a woman said she had to “swerve” in the pitch black to avoid Nicola’s disabled car and called for help. The Ford Focus was “stranded” in the left lane of the dual road, according to witnesses, before being struck by an HGV.
To help with their investigation into the crash, police are asking witnesses to come forward. The Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC) has received a complaint from Humberside Police regarding the incident.

Another memorial described the victim as being in complete shock after learning of the murders of her close friend Nicola Courtney and the infant Lucas. They stated that they would depart.

A representative for Humberside Police said that specially trained officers and associated organizations continue to offer support to the victims’ families. They have asked that their privacy be maintained while they are going through this incredibly difficult period.
On March 10 at approximately 9.06 p.m., a blue Ford Focus that was stopped and perhaps in an active lane was struck by a white articulated lorry that was traveling west along the A180 near Immingham between Stallingborough and Brocklesby.
