New court filings indicate that Nicole Boyd, Bam Margera’s wife, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their divorce.
Reportedly, Bam Margera and his wife Nicole Boyd have separated. Wednesday, according to court documents acquired by TMZ, the ex-Jackass actor’s wife of nine years filed for legal separation.
She stated “irreconcilable issues” as the basis for the breakup and provided September 2021 as the separation date.
Nicole also made custody petitions for the couple’s five-year-old son, Phoenix, in the divorce papers.
She reportedly sought for legal and physical custody of him but will allow Bam supervised visitation in the Los Angeles, California area so long as he pays for the costs. She reportedly also requested spousal support from the court.
Nicole’s lawsuit comes after she and Bam began dating in 2012 and married the following year in Iceland. Four years later, they welcomed their child.
Throughout their relationship, there were ups and downs, as Bam suffered from substance misuse. Some of the problems became public, such as when Bam was arrested for a DUI in 2018 and ordered to rehab; since then, he has been in and out of treatment.
In 2021, after the substance addiction issues and prior to her most recent application, Nicole sought sole custody of Phoenix.
She reportedly stated that she was willing to allow Bam supervised visitation at the time, as family and friends, including Bam’s old Jackass co-star Steve-O, continued to assist in his recovery.
Bam recently made headlines for allegedly lying about receiving the late Elvis Presley’s robe and ring from Priscilla Presley during a hangout with the former Elvis Presley wife and her son Navarone.
Priscilla issued a statement stating that the things did not belong to her late ex-husband and that she felt “betrayed” by the notorious celebrity.
Priscilla added in the statement,
“Unbeknownst to us at the time, Bam chose to distribute these images together with misleading information and narratives.”
“After Bam’s decision, my kid and I wish to have no future contact with him. I regard him to be dishonest and unstable. I was unaware of his identity or that he was photographing in my home without my permission.”
Bam later expressed regret for his conduct. He added in a post,
“I’m incredibly ashamed and embarrassed, and I can’t apologize enough for acting like an idiot.” “Navarone gave me a robe and ring that I donated to Phil’s (his father’s) Elvis memorabilia. I’m giving Navarone a $10,000 Heartagram necklace because I adore his band, @themguns, and I intend to record and tour with them. I am sorry.”
