Officials claim that Nika Nikoubin, an Iranian woman, stabbed a man in a Nevada hotel room out of previous vengeance. The 21-year-old is accused of attempted homicide, assault, and burglary.
The amount of her bail is $60,000 USD. Nicoubin and the man she met on Plenty of Fish arranged to meet at the Sunset Station Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nevada on March 5. Authorities in a hamlet near Las Vegas report that they rented a room together.
The victim drove her to the hotel from her residence. According to the police investigation, Nicoubin showered before purchasing orange juice to add to the victim’s drink in the lobby.
After a few drinks, the pair became more intimate, and Nikoubin blindfolded the victim and turned out the lights before laying on top of him.
Several minutes later, the victim reportedly observed Nikoubin approaching his bedside and felt discomfort in his neck. The victim responded by pushing Nikoubin and yelling, “What are you doing?” before exiting the hotel room and phoning the police.
What prompted Nika Nikoubin to stab the victim?
According to her Facebook page, Nika Nikoubin previously worked at Cycle Bar’s front desk. She was a member of the University of California, Los Angeles debate team.
In 2020, according to a tweet from the UCLA debate team, Nikoubin was a third-year student and in her first year as a JV coach.
According to authorities, Nika Nikoubin stabbed her date in the neck “in vengeance for the 2020 assassination of Qassem Soleimani by US forces.”
The expeditionary Quds Force was directed by Iran’s most senior general, whose mission was to command the overseas actions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In 2017, he rose to prominence as the head of Shiite paramilitary forces in Iraq, fighting against the terrorist organization ISIS. Authorities have not disclosed any information about the victim, nor have they revealed why the suspect chose him as a target.
Several military operations, including the one that killed Soleimani, were launched from Creech Air Force Base, just north of Las Vegas.
An investigator stated that Nicoubin had listened to the song Grave Digger, which inspired her to carry out her vendetta, and that she craved vengeance.
The creator of the song is unknown. Nicoubin stated in a police report that she did not intend to murder the victim, but rather to hurt him. On March 24, she will appear in court after posting a $60,000 bond.
According to the authorities, Nikoubin has no ties to the Las Vegas community. The victim’s condition was unknown, but according to the police report, he was not transported to the hospital following the stabbing.
