Noah Ritter | Insight Into His Life

Noah Ritter

Noah Ritter is a former online celebrity better known as the ‘supposedly kid.’ He rose to notoriety after a video of him saying the word ‘allegedly’ many times went viral and received millions of views in a matter of weeks.

Ritter became an unintentional celebrity after a scene-stealing live interview on a local television station. The viral child has featured on various notable talk shows, like The Toy Box and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on his way to celebrity.

Despite the fact that it has been almost five years since he rose to internet popularity, he is still adored by many. Take a look back at the events that led to him becoming the talk of the nation, his subsequent life, what he is doing now, and more.

Noah Ritter is a native of Pennsylvania and the only child of his parents.

While Ritter’s parents have yet to fully divulge facts about their son’s birth, the former redhead humorous little man was most likely born around 2008.

He was five at the time of his faithful contact with TV Journalist Sofia Ojeda in August 2014. Noah Deck Ritter is his full name.

Noah appears to be his parents’ sole kid. This confirmation came from his grandfather, Jack, in the same month Ritter went viral on the internet. He appears to be the child of divorced parents. At the time of his media success, his mother was dating another man.

Noah Ritter was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. In terms of schooling, he attended kindergarten in Pennsylvania and may still be in school.

How Did Noah Ritter Become Famous?

It was August 1st, 2014. Noah, a five-year-old boy, had just returned from the Pennsylvania County Fair with his grandfather, Jack Borowski. He was living with his grandparents in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, which serves as the county capital of Luzerne County.

One of the WNEP news crews, led by Newswatch 16 reporter Sofia Ojeda, stopped to interview Noah on camera about the journey to the Wayne County Fair in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Ojeda inquired of Ritter, Kathy and Jack’s grandson, about the ride he had recently completed. Noah, who was accompanying his grandfather, Jack Borowski, took up the mic and began talking in the blink of an eye. Take a peek.

“Well, it was great because apparently, you’re spinning around, and apparently, every time you get dizzy, that’s all you do is get dizzy,” Noah said of the ride. He went on to say,

“It was great, and apparently I’ve never been on live television, but apparently sometimes I don’t watch the news because I’m a kid, and apparently every time Grandpa just gives me the remote, I have to watch the Powerball.”

Ritter also mentioned watching Powerball drawings with his grandfather and being “scared half to death” while riding a fair slide.

During the rest of the conversation, the toddler used the term “apparently” eight times. The interview was only one and a half minutes long.

The Pennsylvania native’s response was as amusing as it could be.

Noah Ritter’s Ascension to Fame

Shortly after, the interview went viral, and practically everyone regarded him as a natural-born reporter.

The word “apparently” was never the same after that, at least not for the rest of the year. The video had thousands of views at first and had over 14 million views by the end of the month on YouTube.

On the 4th of August, Twitter user treyschmaltz coined the hashtag #ApparentlyKid. The hashtag was tweeted over 1,000 times in 48 hours.

Borowski responded to the resulting press, grandpa, by saying,

“We were watching it on the computer when it was rebroadcast on the local news.” ‘That’s me,’ he says. I’m well-known. I suppose he’s having fun.”

Borowski, his grandson’s grandfather, later informed ABC News that he was spending the summer with him in Wilkes Barre. Noah, Jack’s grandson, is also quite talkative and has a huge vocabulary, according to Jack.

While Noah looked to like being in front of the camera, his grandfather stated that his actual loves are dinosaurs and swimming.

Noah’s granddad mentioned that they go to the Philadelphia History Museum around once a month because he has always liked dinosaurs since he was a baby.

Ritter Appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ Show

Following that, Noah and his grandfather received calls from a number of television networks and talent brokers. Good Morning America and The Ellen DeGeneres Show are two well-known examples.

Not long after becoming an internet hit and earning the moniker ‘apparently kid,’ Noah went on to appear on the Ellen show, where he garnered even more fame. In reality, he has been on NBC’s variety comedy talk show multiple times.

He initially appeared at the show in September of 2014. Noah, ironically, declined to repeat his iconic remark in front of Ellen at the moment. When the host, Ellen DeGeneres, questioned if ‘supposedly’ was his favorite word, he stood firm.

“Yeah, but I’ve gotten over it now,” Noah said.

During an appearance with Good Morning America, he also stated that he was weary of saying the word ‘allegedly.’ He claimed he had no idea how to spell ‘it’ or what it meant at the time.

When asked where he got the word “apparently,” he said, “I don’t know, from my mom, maybe?”

Noah described his newfound celebrity as “great,” because he’s “never had any people like him.”

Noah Ritter Is A Prominent Attendee Of The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ellen and her viewers have been obsessed with Ritter ever since she first appeared on the talk program. He has, in fact, developed a close relationship with DeGeneres’ personal assistant “Robbie” over the last few years.

Ritter also got to interview Sofia Vergara from Modern Family during one of his visits to Ellen.

During the first interview, she delighted the child with a VIP trip to visit his favorite creatures: dinosaurs on the set of “Walking with Dinosaurs” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The following year, DeGeneres also gave Ritter a trip to the Texas State Fair.

Then, in May 2015, Ellen DeGeneres put Noah Ritter, 6, and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt’s dinosaur knowledge to the test.

Ellen and her production assistant Robbie Dickinson hosted the quiz game between Pratt and the dinosaur enthusiast in the video.

In the game, Noah comically defeated Pratt.

He was a judge on a children’s show.

The ‘supposedly interview’ and following popularity from going on a talk show were only the beginning for Noah. There was yet more to come. As if the title ‘apparently kid’ wasn’t enough, Ritter also received his own TV show, The Toy Box, in April 2017.

Participants in the Toy Box proposed their new toy concepts to a panel of industry professionals. The caveat was that the contestants also had to pitch their toy concepts to a panel of child judges. Ritter was one of the show’s judges, bringing wit and charm to the proceedings.

Noah understood a thing or two about what makes a good toy, even though he was only eight years old when he received his own show.

He entered the event with the belief that a toy should be enjoyable for children everywhere. And it shouldn’t be too difficult for parents to set up.

The WNEP show grew in popularity. It was even renewed for a second season, but the network terminated it after season two ended.

Other Positive Things That Have Happened to Noah Ritter

Even after The Toy Box was canceled, Ritter’s star continued to rise. Since his media debut, he has sold a handmade action figure of himself on Etsy and other similar venues.

Ritter was cast in a commercial for Freshpet, a firm that provides all-natural pet food and treats, in September 2014, the same year he was interviewed at the County Fair. In addition, internet comics the Gregory Brothers gave his first video clip the Songify makeover.

Six years after the original incident, in August 2021, the video received a pitch-perfect soundtrack titled The Apparently Kid — the Mini Musical.

Brandon Ethridge, a pianist and songwriter, composed the music for the interview footage.

Furthermore, according to insiders and other sources, Noah made a lot of money for a youngster his age. The figures, however, were never revealed. Some, though, believe his net worth after the interview was in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What Is Noah Ritter Up To These Days?

The early days of Ritter’s fame from the interview have surely faded. He is, however, currently operating as a part-time YouTuber and part-time adolescent who simply wants to enjoy his life.

Ritter frequently provides movie reviews, his activities with his grandfather, Jack, micro vlogs, and other content on his YouTube channel, The Apparently Kid.
