On Thursday, January 5, 2023, a teen celebrity named Noah Schnapp appeared in a TikTok video with the message:
“After 18 years of hiding in the closet, when I finally told my friends and family I was gay, all they said was ‘we know.'”
Schnapp is best known as Will Byers in Netflix’s sci-fi horror thriller Stranger Things. In the video, the actor admits that he is more similar to Will than he previously realized. Fans frequently assumed that Will’s character was homosexual and had feelings for his best friend Mike.
The actor and creators, the Duffer Brothers, validated this notion subtextually in the most recent season and in separate interviews in July 2022.

A few responses, however, resurfaced a bad running joke among Stranger Things fans that Noah Schnapp’s Stranger Things co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, is homophobic. These people, however, were quickly chastised, claiming that “the joke was never humorous.”
How did Noah feel about Will Byers?
Following the release of the season’s final two episodes, Schnapp revealed to Variety that Will’s character is homosexual and in love with his closest friend, Mike, played by Finn Wolfhard. He stated, ”
“It was always there, but you never knew if it was just him maturing slower than his peers. Now that he’s older, they’ve made it a very real and visible thing. He is now undeniably gay, and he adores Mike.”
Since season one, fans have been questioning Will’s sexuality, but Noah and the filmmakers have avoided answering directly. Prior to his interview with Variety and the publication of Season 4 Part One, the actor stated that the interpretation was up to the audience.
Noah stated that he did not want to reveal anything about the previous two episodes. According to the producers and Netflix, Stranger Things will end after season 5, which will focus on Will Byers. However, production has yet to begin.
