Nouman Ali Khan came under fire after screenshots apparently showing the Muslim speaker “bribing, threatening, and misbehaving” with numerous women surfaced online.
The discussions in the screenshots, which Rabia Chaudry initially posted and has since taken down, are inappropriate.
Following Chaudry’s posting, Muslim chaplain Omer Mozaffar at Loyola University of Chicago removed the Pakistani-American preacher for being a “hypocrite”
Following the contentious exchanges, the hashtag #NAKScandal became popular on Twitter.

As is usual in rape culture, he denied any wrongdoings, and the victims—including other women—were held more accountable than he was.
Nouman Ali Khan Is Charged With Abusing Religion
In September 2017, a sexting incident led to charges against Khan for “luring women into sexual relationships disguised as secret marriages” and “spiritual abuse.”
Khan responded that the disclosed text messages were “between consensual adults” and that the women involved were prospective brides, despite the fact that he had been divorced for two years.
Khan’s actions were not appropriate for a believer, much less someone who teaches about the Holy Qur’an.
Six eminent Muslim scholars and clerics, led by imam Mohamed Magid, released a united statement in response to the allegations.
Khan had made an effort to prevent the publication of the statement. Several of the women who spoke out against Khan encountered harsh responses.

In 2017, at the height of the #MeToo movement, a famous American Muslim cleric who is known for his strict conservatism was charged with sexting.
Nouman Ali Khan was accused of using his status to lure and groom women into intimate relationships under the guise of clandestine marriages even though he was legally married to someone else.
Muslim communities were divided on the subject; some sided with him, while others called for him to be held accountable. He disappeared from view of the public.
He now appears to be making a comeback, much like a few other men who were at the height of the #MeToo movement and accused of being sexual predators.
