Billy Guyton signed with the Hurricanes for the 2014 Super Rugby season after a successful season with Tasman Mako. His time on the field with the Hurricanes was, however, brief, as he was first cut loose for the 2015 campaign. The Crusaders signed Guyton as Willi Heinz’s replacement for the remainder of the 2015 Super Rugby season after the player suffered a season-ending injury.

Guyton had little action despite playing for the Crusaders the following year. As a result, he committed to the Blues for the 2016 campaign, joining them for the third time in as many Super Rugby teams. Guyton was selected for the Mori All Blacks team for their end-of-year trip to the Northern Hemisphere in October 2016 because of his exceptional skills. Further displaying his versatility as a player, he played Fullback and Wing for the New Zealand Heartland XV.
