On April 28, Sabrina A. Navaretta, a 19-year-old Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics honors freshman, died unexpectedly. Sabrina belonged to the Louis Redding Hall neighborhood, the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, and she was a management student. Cathryn Schenk, her advisor, and teacher, noted that she had an optimistic attitude toward life and was eager to join her mother’s real estate firm after graduation.

Dennis Assanis, the president of the university, sent his sympathies to her family and the university community. The university community mourns the passing of a bright student who had a significant impact on many people’s lives.

One person was killed and four people were injured in an automobile accident that happened on April 28 in Newark, Delaware, near the junction of Wyoming Road and Library Avenue. A northbound Toyota Corolla on Library Avenue and a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee on Wyoming Road were both involved in the collision. The Toyota struck the Jeep at the junction as it made a left turn onto Wyoming Road. The Toyota’s front passenger, Sabrina Navaretta, a 19-year-old student at the University of Delaware from Woodbury, New York, had serious body injuries while being imprisoned in the vehicle for almost 20 minutes.

Navaretta was released by the firemen and transferred to Christiana Hospital, where she eventually passed away from her wounds. Sabrina was remembered by her family and friends as a kind, ambitious, and kind young lady.

Cause of Death for Sabrina Navaretta: UD Student Killed in Crash

Sabrina Navaretta loved life and lived it to the fullest. According to the Newark Police Department, Sabrina tragically perished in an automobile accident on the evening of April 28 near the UD campus. In addition to Sabrina, the accident also injured five other people. The sole person killed in the vehicle accident that happened on April 28 close to the University of Delaware campus was Navaretta.

The other four accident participants had injuries, but they subsequently made a full recovery. According to Navaretta’s LinkedIn page, she is an honors student at the University of Delaware studying business management.

The freshman at the University of Delaware, according to her mother Mara Schweitzer-Navaretta, had a strong sense of who she was and seized any opportunity that came her way.

According to her family’s acquaintances, Navaretta enjoyed water sports including jet skiing and boating. They also remarked how close she was to her parents and how she didn’t have a typical adolescent attitude. She was regarded as a bright and intellectual youngster who played soccer and grew up to be a beautiful young lady by teachers and friends who knew her when she was a little girl.

Parents and students from the University of Delaware also posted on Facebook that Navaretta was coming home from Airband. The night of the disaster, UD’s Greek Week concluded with this dancing competition.

A lady who saw the performances said that Navaretta had excelled when she played Cinderella in the Airband dance competition after UD’s Greek Week.

Navaretta joined the sorority Phi Sigma Sigma in the spring, and she had a beneficial influence on the sisterhood and her fellow members. Navaretta’s friendliness and vivacious attitude were also acknowledged in the essay.
