She attended Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C. during her early years, and in 2002 she graduated from Philips Academy, a residential school in Andover, Massachusetts, United States. Olivia had to cancel her acceptance to Bard College three times to follow her dream of becoming an actress. She afterward attended Dublin’s Gaiety School of Acting.

Olivia made her film debut in 2003, playing the role of “Jewel Goldman” in the television series “Skin.” After her recurring appearance as Alex Kelly on the television series “The O.C.” in 2004, she became well-known. Olivia starred in several films in a row, including “The Girl Next Door” in 2004, “Conversations with Other Women” in 2005, “Bickford Shmeckler’s Cool Ideas,” “Alpha Dog,” and “Turistas” in 2006. She then went on to star in the off-Broadway production of Beauty on the Vine.
