Church and routines may not be the first things that come to mind when people hear Pamela Anderson’s name, but the actress recently confessed that before she dreamed of becoming a celebrity, she considered adopting a more religious lifestyle.
During an interview with Drew Barrymore, the ‘Baywatch’ star revealed that, as a child, she had a very different career in mind.
During a recent interview with Drew Barrymore on her talk show, Pamela, age 55, stated that as a child she had originally intended to become a nun.
Rather than the beach on Baywatch or the Playboy Mansion, Pamela Anderson said that, as a child, she envisioned a much more sedate existence. “I desired a career as a nun or a librarian. And I followed a somewhat different way.
I have no idea what occurred,” she told Drew, according to DailyMail. “I was at the library every day – I was at story time every day – and I wanted to be a librarian, but then I decided I wanted to be a nun instead.”
Despite the fact that Pam did not become a nun, she admitted that she still incorporates religion into her daily life. “In the morning, I say my prayers and perform my ritual – my Hail Marys and my little thing with my Mary statue,” she explained.
Pamela Anderson described an “empowering” practice in which she attempted to harness her inner child by placing photographs of herself as a child whenever possible. When was I typical? I must go back to when I was five years old before strange things started happening to me.
“When I did Broadway, I put her image on the mirror and said, ‘She’s going to do Broadway, and I’ll get out of the way,'” she explained. “It’s a weird exercise to visualize yourself as a five-year-old from head to toe, then embrace that kid and tell them they’ll be okay and survive everything.”
