How did he start his professional career and earn a spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup?

With the group Generation Foot, Pape started playing football professionally. After some time, on September 15, 2020, he agreed to a five-year contract with Ligue 1 outfit Metz.

Soon after joining the club, he participated in games for Metz’s second team. But when the manager saw how well he played, he immediately called him up to the first squad. He was unable to take part in the season, though, since it was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.

He made his first-team debut in a Ligue 1 game on November 29, 2020. On August 27, 2021, Pape agreed to a contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League. He was, however, returned on loan to Metz for a full season.

He received a call from Senegal’s national team manager, Aliou Cisse, inviting him to take part in the AFCON 2021 qualifier on March 26, 2021. The team won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations when he was on it. He competed successfully in this event. He was subsequently selected by the administration to participate in the Qatar-hosted FIFA World Cup in 2022.

At the Confederation of African Football Awards, Pape Sarr won the Young Player of the Year award. While on loan from Tottenham Hotspurs, he did well for the Metz squad.

He assisted the Senegal national team at the Africa Cup of Nations with his skills. After losing defensive midfielder Franck Kessie to Barcelona on a free transfer, AC Milan is looking to sign Pape. To fill the vacuum left by Franck, AC Milan is trying to sign Pape on a one-year loan.
