On a recent episode of her podcast, Paris Hilton discussed her silence after the birth of her son Phoenix, whom she shares with her husband Carter Reum.
Paris Hilton, age 42, did not inform her mother, Kathy Hilton, that her son, Phoenix, was born until one week after her surrogate delivered him in January.
The socialite talked about staying secret after welcoming the bundle of joy with Carter Reum, in the latest episode of her podcast, This is Paris, and revealed why she made the decision.
“We are overjoyed to begin a family and cannot wait for you to meet him. “But, for the time being, you’ve been keeping things really private,” she stated on the show.
She said,
“No one literally knew until he was almost a week old.” “Therefore, it was really nice to have our own journey together with Carter.”
In addition to admitting that she did not tell Kathy about Phoenix’s birth for a week, she also admitted that she did not inform Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
She continued,
“I just feel like my life has been so public, and I’ve never had anything truly be mine.” “I feel as though my life has been invaded in so many ways.”
“I simply felt that I wanted to go on this path with us alone,” she continued. “It was difficult to keep quiet because we were so excited and wanted to tell our families, but you’re nervous because if you tell one person, you know they’ll tell someone else, and then it’ll be all over TMZ and Page Six.”
She went on to add that she and Carter, whom she married in 2021, made a vow to not inform anybody else until at least a week, and recounted what it was like to introduce Kathy to her new grandson.
“It was lovely to witness the expression on her face when I presented my mother to our son,” she said. “She was really amazed. The expression on her face was priceless.”
